Our Team

We are a small team of talented professionals with a wide range of skills and experience. We love what we do, and we do it with passion. We look forward to working with you.

Mrs. Shana

School Founder/Administrator/Teacher

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development & Family Studies in Spring 2019 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I am currently working on my Montessori Administrator certification through a MACTE recognized program. Through my educational journey, I found a passion in the ability and desire for children to learn in their early years. I have also found a passion for how development (learning) can be fostered through the Montessori Method. I am a parent of a child who began his Montessori journey at 3 years old and two children who have been able to experience the method since birth. I have seen such tremendous growth and happiness come from the Montessori curriculum and I would love to share this with other families in the North Pole area.

Mrs. Dion

Assistant Teacher

Mrs. Dion joins us with Paraprofessional experience during her time in Oklahoma. She has shown a supportive amount of attention with the children and materials. She is an avid reader and has brought a new excitement to our community, especially with our transitional students and emergent readers. Mrs. Dion is now a Certified Montessori Classroom Assistant.

Mrs. Tailar

Children’s House Assistant Teacher

Mrs. Tailar has brought a gentle and creative approach to our classroom. She has an artistic point of view which fosters the desire for so many of our children to expand their exploration of materials within the environment. Her innovation during our 2020 mandated COVID closure in online learning was extremely beneficial to our students and school community. Mrs. Tailar is now a Certified Montessori Classroom Assistant.

Mrs. Fernanda

Mrs. Fernanda has traveled to Alaska after spending time in the classroom in Chicago. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and is fluent in Spanish. Both our Children’s House and Elementary classrooms have shown interest in the Spanish lessons offered and enjoy the experience Mrs. Fernanda offers.

Mrs. Hannah

Mrs. Hannah has recently separated from the US Army and is working to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She is new to Alaska and ready for the adventures found in the Montessori classroom! (not pictured)
